MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ Karen Gallman was crowned 47th Miss Intercontinental last night held in Manila, Philippines.
Gallman, 25, bested over 80 contestants from around the world finishing ahead of Costa Rica and
The Filipino-Australian beauty queen made history as the first Filipina to win since the international pageant started 47 years ago.
When asked to define success, here’s how Gallman answered the question:
“For me, success is not just about winning in life but setting goals — smaller goals — and achieving your dreams and working hard for everything you want and always looking up to God and being thankful for everything. For me, that is
success ”
Pageant-obsessed Filipinos followed the Intercontinental journey of Gallman especially since another Fil-Aussie beauty Catriona Gray won the Miss Universe 2018 recently.
Social media was filled with cheers as the Philippines’ Miss Intercontinental bet went through each round.
Like Catriona, Gallman has similar advocacy of pushing for better education for poor kids living in rural areas of the country.
